February 3 was our Senior Capstone Presentations day at CHS, the culmination of an in-depth research and presentation project Chatham seniors complete as part of their English 12 class. Each senior developed a thesis of their choosing and presented their argument to a panel of faculty members. Today’s District Conference Day allowed the entire CCSD faculty to come together at the High School to participate and serve as evaluators.
During their presentations, the students demonstrated their ability to conduct research, think analytically and creatively, articulate their ideas, and integrate data, experiences, knowledge and multiple sources of media into their arguments.
These presentations are part of Chatham’s unique set of graduation requirements known as the Senior Capstone Program, which is designed to prepare our seniors for success after graduation by giving them a sense of progression into adulthood and personal ownership of their education. Congratulations to our seniors on completing this major milestone in their academic careers!
