DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES AND CSE DIRECTOR - Full-time position starting July 1, 2025. Qualifications: Certification in school district leadership and at least 5 years of teaching (preferably in special education or related services). Prior school leadership experience preferred. Job Responsibilities:
Provides leadership, coordination, and supervision of district-wide special education programs.
Develops and implements comprehensive district-wide special education plans and policies.
Oversees the development and implementation of innovative programs and practices to meet the diverse needs of special education students.
Conducts APPR evaluations of special education teachers and related service providers.
Chairs CSE and CPSE meetings.
Plans and facilitates special education department meetings.
Oversees the district mental health provider team.
Provides professional development to special education staff.
Manages the district’s special education budget and resources effectively.
Oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of IEPs.
Coordinates with related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Collaborates with district leadership to ensure alignment of special education goals with overall district goals.
Oversees the district’s social/emotional programming and curriculum.
Collaborates with the transportation department to ensure safe and appropriate transportation for special needs students.
Recruits, hires, and supervises special education staff.
Ensures compliance with all federal and NYSED laws and regulations.
Supervises school nursing staff.
Supervises Administrative Assistants assigned to CSE and Medicaid.
Builds strong relationships with parents and families of special education students.
Communicates effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and program options.
Hires staff and supervises Extended School Year Program.
Writes the district’s federal 611 and 619 grants.
Completes NYS VR and PD reports.
Oversees special education STAC to ensure appropriate financial reimbursement.
Functions as district’s 504 Compliance Officer.
Functions as district’s Medicaid Compliance Officer.
Represents the district in legal proceedings, as needed.
LONG-TERM SUBTITUTE MATH TEACHER – 1.0 FTE High School long term substitute position starting on or about February 14, 2024 through June 27, 2024. NYS 7-12 Certification in Math required.
