Registration for the Chatham Central School District Class of 2037 ( 2024-25 school year) begins in February. 

If you have a child who is eligible to attend kindergarten this fall, please fill out our Kindergarten Registration Form by March 16, 2024 or call Mrs. Williams in the Mary E. Dardess Elementary School (MED) office at (518) 392-1530 for assistance.

Kindergarten screening takes place in June by appointment.

Children must be 5-years old on or before December 1, 2024 to be eligible to attend kindergarten this fall. Registration requirements include the child’s birth certificate or other proof of age and proof of immunizations (see below), as well as two proofs of residency (electric or telephone bill, automobile insurance card, bank statement, driver’s license, lease or mortgage, etc.) showing street address, not post office box. Additionally, a physical examination is required to be on file by September 30. A valid physical exam for the 2024-2025 school year needs to have been completed after September 7, 2024.

Required proofs of immunizations include:

  • Diphtheria and Tetanus toxoid-containing vaccine and Pertussis vaccine (DTap, DTP, Tdap) – 5 doses or 4 doses if the 4th dose was received at 4 years of age or older;

  • Polio vaccine (IPV/OPV) - 4 doses or 3 doses if the 3rd dose was received at 4 years of age or older;

  • Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine (MMR) - 2 doses;

  • Hepatitis B vaccine - 3 doses;

  • Varicella vaccine – 2 doses.

Additionally, please send a dental certificate if you have one, although it is not a requirement to attend school.
