At its March 8, 2022 meeting, the Board of Education appointed Dawn Friedman of Ghent to fill the empty seat on the Board created by the resignation of Craig Simmons at the end of December. Ms. Friedman was appointed after the Board put out a call for applicants and completed an interview process. She will serve a term lasting now through May 17, 2022, at which time the seat will be filled by the annual Board election. Also at the meeting, Destiny Hallenbeck submitted her resignation to the Board. The Board chose not to begin an appointment process to fill this vacancy because it is within 90 days of the election. The seat will remain vacant until May 17, 2022, at which time it will be filled by election.
