Congratulations to our 2025 CMS Science & Technology Fair participants! This year, the fair included entries from students in grades five through eight. Students developed a hypothesis or technical problem and then used either the Scientific Method or Problem Solving Method, respectively, to prove or disprove their theory or find a solution to their problem.
This year’s winning projects are:
Kaylie Williams (5th grade) - Which household materials help fertilize corn to grow the best? Which hinder growth?
Addison Barwell & Everly Mabey (5th grade) - Can fruits power an LED light bulb?
Bryce Schuster (6th grade) - How does the type of flour affect the shape and taste of the bread?
During the school day on March 19, Chatham’s high school and middle school science and technology faculty judged the entries, and classes dropped in to check out the projects. The fair was open to the public that evening and the winners were announced at the close of the fair.
