Chatham Middle School brought A Friend of a Friend: Tales of the Underground Railroad to the CMS stage on January 27 to highlight January's character theme of perseverance. The docu-play highlights the captivating narrative of individuals from the Capital Region, including Solomon Northup, a free man from Saratoga Springs who was kidnapped and sold into slavery in the south, and Albany’s Harriet and Stephen Myers, who published an anti-slavery newspaper and aided fugitive slaves as conductors on the Underground Railroad. A Friend of a Friend is a Proctors Theatre On-The-Go production developed by theREP.
