Dear Chatham Community,
It is hard to believe, but I have recently finished up my second month as superintendent of this wonderful school district. I want to take this time to thank you for your support and kindness as I have transitioned into my new role here in Chatham. During my time here it has become clear that Chatham is a very special place. I have found the students to be incredibly respectful, motivated, and eager to try their best. The faculty and staff is passionate, hardworking, and truly cares about our students. Our families are supportive and dedicated to this community. It certainly takes a community to educate a child, and we will continue to work together to ensure the very best for each and every one of our students.
Recently, board members and I have researched past value and visionary statements from Chatham CSD’s history. We came across a statement that was first used well over 50 years ago. The simple yet powerful statement reads, “Chatham, Where Character Counts.” I write to let our community know that as a school district we are going to re-brand this statement and bring it to the forefront of what we believe here in Chatham. This statement lets everyone know that character is important, our expectation, and essential in our Chatham community. Please join me in spreading the word - “Chatham, Where Character Counts.”
Thank you for your continued support and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions at kourta@chatham.k12.ny.us.
Fondly,
Andrew Kourt
