In art class, third graders studied the compositions of historic artist Piet Mondrian and his series of tree paintings. They used found objects and leaves throughout the room to trace and build their own interesting compositions. Students practiced blending colors, using different drawing materials, and using warm and cool colors to make their artwork pop! When they finished, they all practiced their writing skills by writing about what inspired their artwork and what they made.

"This is a huge project for 3rd grade to complete, and they all finished such unique and wonderful artworks," MED art teacher Eric Roth remarked.
