The Chatham Board of Education has appointed Michael Chudy to serve as interim superintendent of the Chatham Central School District, effective July 1, 2024. Mr. Chudy is Chatham’s school business administrator and has served in that position for the past 12 years. He will continue in that role while serving as interim superintendent.
“This is an important time for our district, with construction on our capital project starting this summer and our district in the process of transitioning to our next leader,” Mr. Chudy said. ”I’m very much looking forward to steering the ship during this transition and furthering all the good work that has been happening here at Chatham.”
He is certified as a NYS school district leader and school district business leader, and holds certificates of advanced study in educational administration from the University of Buffalo, a master’s degree in management from Purdue University, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Miami University.
The Board appointed Chudy on June 25 to succeed outgoing superintendent Sal DeAngelo, who is retiring on June 30. He will serve as interim superintendent until Dr. DeAngelo's permanent replacement can take office later this year.
