Chatham Middle School National Junior Honor Society members served as "StreetSoldiers" in Rensselaer on Saturday, May 18. StreetSoldiers is a volunteer driven, grassroots organization that provides comfort and basic necessities to the area’s homeless and less fortunate populations. They joined other organizations that set up tables to provide for the community. Our 8th grade NJHS members collected donations and prepared meals to provide three tables worth of hygiene and self-care items, fresh fruit and groceries, and homemade sandwiches and mac & cheese to over 75 community members in need. We thank Chatham Community Cares, Golden Harvest, and our very own CMS staff and families for their donations, which helped the students make this important service project possible.
