In science, 5th grade is learning about how to conserve freshwater on Earth. Students were tasked with creating a 3- step water filtration system that decreased the nitrate level in contaminated water and increased water clarity. The following pictures show water contaminated with soil and fertilizer, and the 3-step water filter, which uses activated carbon and coffee filters.
