Friday was Fire Prevention Day at MED! Our volunteer firefighters from the Chatham, Ghent, East Chatham, Tri-Village, and Spencertown fire companies visited our elementary school to talk about fire safety at home. Always a student favorite, the firefighters showed off their big trucks and donned their personal protective equipment to show the students what they look and sound like when they go into burning buildings. They also made MED's dean of students, Mr. Roloson, an honorary firefighter by dressing him up in all that heavy gear! After the assemblies outside, the school held a fire drill and then the firefighters went classroom to classroom to talk more about fire safety with our students.
