Tonight's Commencement for the Class of 2024 will be held indoors at CHS. The entire ceremony will be livestreamed and available to view on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ChathamCSD/ . The stream will be available a few minutes before the ceremony, which begins at 6:00 p.m. The Commencement Parade will take place at 7:45 p.m. Congratulations to the Class of 2024!

The Class of 2024 will parade through the Village of Chatham following their graduation ceremony on Wednesday, June 26. The parade starts at approximately 7:45 p.m. at Chatham High School, takes a left onto Woodbridge Ave., right onto Kinderhook St., right at the roundabout onto Main St., and continues straight onto Hudson Ave. to the Columbia County Fairgrounds. The community is encouraged to come out and cheer on the graduates.

Due to the forecast for extreme heat, Chatham Middle School and MED Elementary School will dismiss students early on Tuesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 20. CMS will dismiss students at 11:15 a.m. and MED will dismiss students at 11:30 a.m. both days. Breakfast and lunch will be served. The Chatham High School Regents/final exam schedule will remain as normal and the building has air conditioning. Transportation home at the end of the day will be provided for CHS students who request it. Please call or email the CHS main office anytime, but no later than 11:30 a.m. the day of your request. A reminder that there is no school on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.

The Panthers are headed to the NYS baseball finals for the third year in a row! Chatham shut out Pulaski 9-0 in the NYSPHSAA Class C semifinal at Binghamton University Friday morning. The Panthers will play Burke Catholic in the championship game at 10 a.m. this Saturday at Mirabito Stadium. The NYSPHSAA Championships will use online ticketing. Ticket prices are $11.50 (inclusive of fees). Children under five are free. Cash sales will not be available at the gate. The winner of that game will advance to the NYS Finals on Saturday, June 8, 10:00 a.m. at Morabito Stadium All NYSPHSAA Championships will use online ticketing. Ticket prices are $11.50 (inclusive of fees). Cash sales will not be available at the gate. Congratulations to the varsity baseball team on their 18-10 victory over Tupper Lake in the regional semi-final yesterday evening. The boys will be playing Section 7 winner Ticonderoga in the Class C regional final on Saturday, June 1, 12:00 pm at Shuttleworth Park in Amsterdam. Chatham will be in the 3rd base dugout and will be the home team. The winner moves on to the NYS semi-finals next week in Binghamton. 2024 Prom Dress Drive: donate your clean, gently worn dresses to the Prom Dress Fund. All donations will be used to provide area students with free dresses for the 2025 prom season. Enjoy a late morning or early afternoon of painting and goodies when the Class of 2027 hosts a Canvas & Cookies painting event on Saturday, April 13. Two sessions will be hosted to accommodate painters of all age groups (10am families with students k-5, Noon adults & students grade 6 and up). Sessions will be led by retired Chatham art teacher Patrice Tomaso featuring a design for elementary and a sunset scene for adults & students grade 6 and up. Sometime during the week of March 25, 2024, we will practice lockdown drills in all three of our school buildings. Officers from the Chatham Police Department, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and New York State Police will assist us. As you know, it is important that we periodically practice these drills with as many different variables as possible; our goal is to make sure our students and staff are prepared and safe.
