COVID-19 Update Icon

January 11, 2022

Dear MED & CMS Families,

Mary E. Dardess Elementary School and Chatham Middle School will shift to remote learning for Thursday, January 13, and Friday, January 14, 2022. The shift is necessary due to increasing COVID-related staffing shortages that are affecting our ability to provide instruction and other basic school functions in these two buildings. At this time, we anticipate that MED and CMS will be able to return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, following the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

The MED and CMS offices will remain open during this period of remote learning.

Practices and competitions for CMS interscholastic athletics will continue as scheduled.

Grab-and-go meals for MED and CMS students will be available Thursday and Friday. Pick up will be from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the front entrance of MED Elementary School. Please contact your school office no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12 to reserve your meals for both days.

The shift to remote learning is for MED and CMS only; Chatham High School will continue with in-person instruction as normal.

We appreciate your continued patience, understanding and support as we address the challenges the pandemic continues to throw at us.

Sincerely,

Sal DeAngelo
Superintendent of School
