Chatham Middle School's production of Disney's High School Musical: One Act Edition showed November 17-19 in the CMS auditorium. This wonderful show was put on by the CMS Drama Club and was directed by Kristen VanNote with music direction by Brandon Kulzer.
VanNote, returning as CMS Drama Club director, said that “this show is truly a showcase of many talents. Not only are these middle school students the performers of this show, they also spent time helping to design and paint many of the set pieces you will see. This is a great show for all ages. I am so impressed with their performance.“
High School Musical brings new girl brainiac Gabriella Montez and championship-winning jock Troy Bolton together as they discover that they can go against the status quo to express themselves in any way they want, namely, the spring musical.
This production starred the talented Isla Stack as Gabriella, Jordan Surita as Troy, and Skylar Bowen and Andrew Mehleisen as the scheming thespian twins, Sharpay and Ryan Evans.
Kulzer, who along with being High School Musical's wonderful music director is the MED and CHS orchestra teacher, said, “The kids have put in a lot of time, work, and effort in order to realize 'High School Musical' on the CMS stage.”
This production was supported by the CHS Theater Production and Marketing Class.
