Here is some updated information for graduation. Please reach out with any questions you may have about the event.
As of now, it appears we will be outside on the football field. A final decision will be made by the morning of June 23. Final ticket information will be shared at that time.
Students should arrive at 5pm and report to the cafeteria. Robert Simmons will be taking photos during the ceremony and will capture a diploma shot for each graduate. He will also be available for families after the ceremony at CHS and then after the parade at the fairgrounds. Pictures will be available at https://www.rtsphotography.org... after graduation.
Graduation begins at 6pm. The ceremony will last 60-90 minutes. Immediately following the ceremony all visitors should leave campus to find a spot to watch the parade. Students should pick up Diplomas in the high school gym immediately following the ceremony. There will be light refreshments available at this time.
Once diplomas have been picked up, students and their families should leave the HS parking lot and take a left just past the MED by the business offices. We are trying to limit the parade to one car per family. Cars will proceed on the dirt access road behind MED and the High School. Cars will then stage for the parade on the access road beside CHS (Please see diagram). We will have cars hold in place there until approximately 8pm to begin the parade. Once your car is parked and staged for the parade, families can leave their cars and get family pictures with Robert Simmons. We will ask families to report back to their cars at 7:50pm for the parade.
Please see diagram for the parade route. The parade route is as follows: Leaving the high school take a left onto Woodbridge Ave., right onto Kinderhook St., at the roundabout right onto Main St., continue straight onto Hudson Ave. to the Columbia County Fairgrounds.
We will follow Emergency Vehicles through town and end the route as we enter the Hudson Avenue Entrance at the fairgrounds. This will be a good place to reconvene after the parade. Mr. Simmons will again make himself available at the fairgrounds for families. I imagine pictures will be stationed somewhere near the pond.
The entire ceremony will be livestreamed and available to view on our Facebook page. The stream will be available a few minutes before the ceremony, which begins at 6pm.
