New at MED this year, the PTA organized a meaningful school-wide Veterans Day assembly to honor our Veterans and instill in students an understanding of the importance of this holiday. The event featured guest speaker Darci Ordway, who is a US Navy veteran and a Chatham CSD bus driver, and several of our local veterans, who gave a flag folding demonstration for our students. The assembly also included the playing of “taps” by Mr. Hoffman, a patriotic sing-along of “This Land is Your Land,” the singing of the national anthem by Ms. VanNote, and a slideshow featuring Veterans who are family members of our students and staff.
