Students at Tracy Memorial

MED 4th graders took a community walking field trip on June 3rd. They  left MED and walked to the Tracy Memorial on Main Street where they met up with Mayor John Howe. Mayor Howe shared some history with the students about some of the oldest buildings in town. The students then got to see the courtroom that is on the 2nd floor of the Tracy Memorial building. From the Tracy, the students then walked down Main Street where they stopped at the gazebo and learned a bit more about the history of our community from Mayor Howe. Next, the students headed down to the Chatham Firehouse where they were greeted by a few of our own volunteer firefighters for a question and answer session. From there they headed to the Chatham fairgrounds where they enjoyed their lunch and a surprise of make-your-own sundaes donated by the Chatham Stewarts! The students, teachers, staff, and Mayor Howe had a great day out enjoying our own community. The entire 4th grade thanks Mayor Howe and the Chatham Stewarts for helping us have such a great day!
