Mrs. Ewers' second grade class practiced reading, writing, and following directions as well as collaboration, speaking and listening skills through an interactive video conferencing project facilitated by the NYS Distance Learning Consortium. In their "Monster Match Collaboration," the class paired up with a third grade class in the Phoenix Central School District, located in western NY, to create monsters together. Mrs. Ewers' class built their own monster and wrote a set of directions for their partner class to follow to recreate the monster. Mrs. Ewers's class also received a set of written directions from their partner class which they followed to recreate that class’ monster. The Friday before Halloween, both classes met for the first time via Google Meet to reveal their finished monsters. Mrs. Ewers's class was very excited to meet their partner class and see how well they did following their written directions!
