Kindergartners in Mrs. Baskiewicz's class celebrated Groundhog Day by first becoming weather predictors themselves! Before the official Groundhog Day on February 2, they made their own guesses about whether Punxsutawney Phil would see his shadow. Many were hopeful for an early spring! After the big day, and after seeing Phil's prediction, the students explored the science behind shadows. They learned about how light works and why shadows form, and then got to experiment by making their own shadows in the classroom.
