Lunch Price Increase for 2016-17

Beginning in September, the cost of lunch at MED, CMS & CHS will increase by 10 cents per meal. The costs of breakfast and reduced-priced meals are unchanged.

The following meal prices will be in effect for the 2016-17 school year:
MED: Breakfast $1.35, Lunch $2.55
Middle and High School: Breakfast $1.35, Lunch $2.70
Reduced-price meals: $0.25

The price increase is due to a federal mandate (the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act) which requires schools to bring what they charge for regular-priced meals in line with what the US Department of Agriculture reimburses schools for meals provided to students receiving free or reduced-price meals. Chatham’s Board of Education approved the price increases in July.

Families who may need assistance paying for school meals are encouraged to complete a Free and Reduced Meals Application, available on our website (a new application must be submitted each school year). Visit our Food Service webpage to learn more...
