Career Day at CHS
Chatham High School hosted a school-wide Career Day on October 21. The school invited a total of forty speakers to visit and share a little bit about their personal career experiences with our high schoolers.
Last year, the District’s faculty Career and Life Skills Team met with the guidance department to talk about career initiatives K-12. Through their collective discussions they identified a need at the high school to connect students with guest speakers who work in careers our students are interested in pursuing. Therefore, the team decided last spring to host a Career Day for all students at Chatham High School this fall.
Students chose two panel sessions to attend out of a total of fourteen different career clusters. Clusters included jobs in business, government, agriculture, art, science, and much, much more.
Panel members talked about what they do in their work, the education they received, and the job changes and connections they made that helped them get to where they are today. Students had chance to ask questions of their guests at the end of each panel session.
Special thanks to all our guest speakers!
